The Circle brings together individuals who share an appreciation for the arts and a personal commitment to the National Gallery. Members of this patron group receive invitations and opportunities that offer an unparalleled experience within the galleries and beyond.  

Membership Tiers

Contributing Level

$1,500 to $2,999

  • Invitations to member receptions celebrating special exhibitions
  • Private exhibition previews and curatorial lectures (offered in person and recorded)
  • Invitation to the annual Winter Party
  • Special welcome event for new members
  • 20% off at National Gallery Shops
  • Access to a members-only archive of lectures from curators and staff
  • Digital member communications, including the monthly email newsletter
  • Subscription to the Art for the Nation, the National Gallery’s member magazine
  • Recognition in National Gallery donor publications

Supporting Level

$3,000 to $4,999

All the benefits above, plus:

  • Invitations to additional receptions
  • Members-only educational opportunities centered on the collection
  • Reservations for National Gallery concert series

Sustaining Level

$5,000 to $9,999

All the benefits above, plus:

  • Conversations, round tables, and behind-the-scenes experiences with National Gallery staff
  • An exhibition catalog or other National Gallery publication

Patron Level

$10,000 to $24,999

All the benefits above, plus:

  • Reserved parking on the Fourth Street Plaza  
  • Private tour for up to ten guests with National Gallery staff 

All categories, benefits and prices are subject to change.

The total value of benefits made available is estimated to be $150 for Contributing, $250 for Supporting and Tower Project, $500 for Sustaining, $750 for Patron, and $1,000 for the Director's Circle. The amount of your contribution that is deductible for federal income taxes is limited to the excess of the value of the contribution over the value of the benefits made available in return.

Membership entitles two in the household to participate.
